Vijaypur (2 Kms.) : Vijaypur is small picturesque town, one can
view of
snow-capped wide Himalayan range. Vijaypur is also famous
for Tea garden which was established in the time of British
Rule and laid over 7 Hec. of land. The Tea is completely

Dholinag Temple (1 Kms. Trek) : The blessed holy place & ancient divine temple of Lord Dholinag, Avatar of Sheshnaga, Sheshanaga has a thousand heads swinging to and fro over the form of Lord Vishnu, creating a shelter and couch for the Lord.). As saying there are only 2 temples of Lord Vishnu in India, One is in Badrinath & another is in Dholinag.

Bhadarkali Temple : (2 hours trek or 30 kms. by road) : The ancient temple of Godess Bhadarakali, The temple situated in a serene & sanctified location, There is also an incredible waterfall falling over a mysterious cave. Less known but miraculous destination.

Kanda (8 Kms.) : The beautiful hill station Kanda is situated at 1500-1900m above sea level, surrounded by beautiful mountains and terraced fields it captivates the senses and imaginations of the locals and visitors alike. Both the local people and the visitors appreciate the beauty here and benefit from the pure air and healthy environment that mountain scenery presents. According to legends, and the older inhabitants, there once lived a local caste of Kanyal. Kanda is named after this caste. Chaukori (15 Kms.) : Chaukori is at an altitude of 2010 mts, and boast of grandiose of Chaukhamba to Panchachuli peaks. Field of ripening corn, fruit orchard and tall pine, oak and rhododendron tree make a common sight. A British-era tea estate adds a feather to its cap. Chaukori is 75 kms. From Pithoragarh (via thal) and about 47 kms from Bageshwar. From here, one can also visit places like Dharmughar, where Sarla Behen spent her last day.

Bageshwar : District (32 Kms.) : Situated at the confluence of rivers Saryu, Gomti and latent Bhagirathi, lies the holy township of Bageshwar; also revered as the pious land associated with Lord Sadashiva, the redeemer of all sins. As the puranas state, this undoubtedly is a place capable of liberating one from the eternal bondage of births & deaths. With the east and west flanked by the Bhileswar and Nileshwar mountains and surrounded by Suraj Kund in the north and Agni Kund in the south, this land of Lord Shankar is of great religious, historic and political significance. Since time immemorial, this place has been the symbol of faith for the entire Uttarakhand region. Because of its spiritual magnetism, it has attracted many saintly men and numerous patriots who have always been ready to lay down everything for the sake of their revered motherland.
The temple of Bagnath situated here is venerated by one and all. Devotees gather here on every Monday of the holy month of Shravan to worship the Lord, who is also known as the remover of sorrows. During the fairs of Uttarayani and Shivratri, it becomes very difficult to control the hoards of devotees who come to attend these fairs from far and near.
The Nilaparvat, situated between the rivers Saryu and Gomti is inhabited by all the 33 crore Gods of the Hindu pantheon, the celestial being like Siddha, Gandharva, Vidyadhar, Urvashi etc. and manu sages. Irrigated by the Saryu, the Nilaparvat is held to be more important than the Vindhyachal. Those who desire to embrace death at place between Surya Kund and Agni Kund, become equivalent to the Gods by attaining salvation at the feet of Lord Shiva himself. During the reign of the Chands, the Shiva temple was constructed at Bageshwar. Legend has it that when repeated attempts to install a Shiv Linga proved futile, it was Shri Manorath Pandey of Palayn village who succeeded in installing the idol after performing penance on the Shivratri. Patal Bhuwneshwar (52 Kms.) (1,350 mtrs), To reach the temple one has to pass through a natural cave, which is very narrow. It makes the visit a thrilling experience for the traveler.

Baijnath (50 Kms.) : Baijnath is at a height of 1125 meters are ancient temples ot only of Shiva, Ganesh and Parvati, but also of Chandika, Kuber, Surya, Brahma ann Mahisasur Mardini, situated on the Gomti's green banks, in the lush calms Garur valley is the main temple of Baijnath dating back to the 13th century A.D. Rich in history and art and at a short distance of 3 kms. is Kote-ki Mai temple, with a life-size, superbly sculpted statue of Lord Vishnu presiding over the beautiful old temple, artistically pleasing to both - the soul and eyes.

Kausani (66 Kms.) : Standing 1890 mts above the sea level, Kausani is nature's own reserve of solitudes and greenery. Even the father of the nation, Mahatama Gandhi has contemplated on the beauty of this region. Several snow capped peaks stand in a stately row, over 300 kms in length, shining against the azure sky making the horizon as seen from Kausani and enviable spectacle. The glory of the snow crowned Himalayan range reaches it's pinnacle when the sun rays turn them into crimson and gold. Mahatama Gandhi, who spent 12 days in 1929 at Kausani, penned his memorable commentary on the Geeta-Ana-Sakti yoga inspired by the scenic grandeur of this richly gifted spot. The guest house where the Mahatama stayed is now know as Anasakti Ashram. Hindi poet laureate Sumitra Nandan Pant was born at Kausani. Some of his early poems composed here have described nature in it's myriad manifestations. There is small museum to earmark that sacred spot. Kausani is ideal for those who seek to escape from the din and dust, hustle and bustle of big cities and wish to spend a quiet holiday in the lap of nature. Indeed, Kausani is a veritable heaven of beauty to which an excursion must be made on visiting Kuma0n. The wide expanse of the famous Katyur Valley lies in front of it as you wake up to experience the Kausani sunrise.

Gwaldam (72 Kms.) About 3 Kms from Baijnath, the main highways goes to Bageshwar and a side road branches off to Gwaldam. This is a delightful route as besides the presence of birds, adding a winsome note, one passes through terraced fields and thick pines set against a backdrop of the Himalayas, and one can watch the Trishul peaks coming even closer. Gwaldam with its salubrious climate is a little heaven nestling in the woods. In this area, upto Talwari , there are several orchards generally of apple. From Gwaldam, the road winds its way through dense forests and terraced fields dotted with rustic cottages of small towns known as Tharal, Dewal and Narain Bagar to meet the Ranikhet-Pandukhal road at a place called Simli, which is 8 Km short of Karnaprayag.
